Ms. Jennie May Tigner was born to Lewis Tigner and the late Betty Faye Tigner (Rutledge) in Hogansville, Ga on November 29th, 1957. Jennie May was the 4th of 11 children born to this union. She entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 15, 2022.
At an early age, she became a member of Springfield Baptist Church in Hogansville, Ga. She was a graduate of Hogansville High School.
Affectionately known as Jennie May to some and “Jennie Hen” to others, she grew to become well known and loved within the Hogansville Community. She would “tell it like it is”, welcome all to her infamous home-cooked meals, and share laughs & good times with friends and family alike. Jennie May held her family near and dear to her heart and could always be found around town with her grandchildren by her side. During her later stages of life, she became a home health care provider where she found favor with the late Juanita Long, a special friend of her late mother. She was preceded in death by her loving mother – Mrs. Betty Faye (Rutledge) Tigner, sister – Ms. Betty Jean Tigner, niece - Ms. Shanelya Vanessa Tigner and brother – Mr. Jerry Tigner
Jennie May leaves to cherish in her memory her five children: Tamunya “Munya” Tigner, Frederick “Check” Tigner, Erica (Tigner) Ryan, Jaqueobouris “Jaque” Tigner, and Rachelle Tigner of Hogansville, Ga; 3 brothers: Joe Tigner & Tyrone Tigner, both of Hogansville, Ga, and Claude “Kippy” Tigner (Wanda) of Lagrange, Ga; 5 sisters: Rose Tigner, Sarah-Kate Cameron, Belinda Tigner, Valerie Jackson (Reginald) all of Hogansville, Ga, and Mary Thornton (Kenny) of Lagrange, Ga; sister-in-law Jean Reeves; special friends Willie Mae Harden and Kenneth Grissom; 16 grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
