Obituary For Cathy Griffin
We regretfully announce the passing of Ms.Cathy Griffin, age 67, of Newnan, Georgia on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Wadley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery located on Coweta-Heard Road in Corinth, Georgia.
Rev. Ricky Griffin (Brother) will officiate.
At the family's request, there will only be a Private Viewing.
Cathy Lavett Griffin was born to the late Mr. Charlie James & Mary Ruth (Dawson) Griffin July 7, 1957 in Coweta County, Georgia.
She departed her life December 26, 2024 at Brightmoor Hospice.
She joined Harmonia CME Church at an early age.
November 8, 1992, she became a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, in Newnan, GA, under the late Rev. W.J. Johnson.
She worked as a Teacherโs Assistant at Atkinson Elementary, she then went on to work at Bibbโs Warehouse, and later she found a career as a security guard at Yamaha.
Throughout her lifetime, she enjoyed family, babysitting, basketball, reading her Bible, and traveling.
She was proceeded in death by her sister Bettye Copeland and she leave to cherish her memories, one daughter, Tjuanna Davis, a very special son in law, Robert Davis, a God-Granddaughter, Norbria Smith, and a God-Son, Tony Potts.
She also leave to cherish her memories, her siblings, Dorothy Ragland, Patricia Rosser, James Griffin (Martha), Kurt Griffin, Faye Martin (Thomas ), Derrick Griffin, Ricky Griffin (Tammy) and a host of nieces&nephews of which some were like her very own children: Tyrie Griffin, Tamar Hill, Sharanda Keith, Shamar Ragland, and Ciara Griffin. Very devoted friends Gloria Potts, Francis Matthews, and Eliza Roberts.
Mama,
God loaned you to me for 47 years and when he called you home I shed a lot of tears.
You are now healed and resting in his arms of love. Fly high my angel and keep watch over me from above.
I love you Mama.
