Mr. Jerome Dennis a native of Columbus, Georgia was born on October 9, 1950, to the late Mr. Eddie Dennis, Jr and the late Mrs. Janie Threatt Hendricks. Jerome passed away on October 7, 2024, at Northside Hospital in Gwinnett County. He attended school in Muscogee County and graduated from Spencer High School in 1968.He also attended Fort Valley State College and later joined the United States Air Force. He worked for Kgp Logistics as a Material Specialist for over 34 years.
He accepted Christ at an early age at Grant Chapel AME Church, Columbus, Georgia.
He met the love of his life, Mary Williams, and was united in holy matrimony on October 22, 1990. The union was blessed. They were married for 34 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Eddie Dennis, Jr. and his mother, Mrs. Janie Threatt Hendricks.
Jerome was known as “Jay” and “Snookie”. He was loved by many who knew him. His famous words were “One Love”.
He leaves to cherish his devoted and loving wife, Mary Dennis. Two daughters, Brandy Dennis of Columbus, Georgia and Aharia Jefferson, Texas. Two sons: Jermaine Miller of Dover, Delaware, and DaMar Miller of Dover, Delaware. Three stepsons: Charles (Kimberly) Barker, of Lithonia, Georgia, Jose (Andrea) Barker of Snellville, Georgia, Edgar Barker, Lithonia, Georgia and seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Two sisters Sharon (Lenwood) Lee of Columbus, Georgia, Rev. Audrey (Rev. Frederick) Harris, Fortson, Georgia. One brother Clark “Chuck” Dooley, Columbus, Georgia. A loving brother-in-law, John (Laverne) Williams and two beloved sister- in- laws, Alma and Louise. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Dennis will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Grant Chapel AME Church with interment at Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday 3 - 5:00 PM at Progressive.
