Mr. David Shelby Williams, Sr. transitioned home peacefully Saturday at the Piedmont Midtown Medical Center. He was 50 years old.
The beloved son of Mrs. Loretta Johnson Williams of Columbus and the late Eddie Lee Williams, David was a Columbus native who was a 1990 graduate of Shaw High School. He also attended Columbus Technical College and was a devout member of the Christian Valley Church where he proudly served as a Deacon.
He was a United States Army Veteran and was the co-founder of Peaceful River Residential Services. Other than his father, David was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Eddie, Jr. and Cassandra Williams; mother-in-law, Geraldine Stephens and brothers-in-law, Lester Davis and David Tymes.
Surviving his departure with cherished memories, include: his loving wife of 24 years, Mrs. Pamela Stephens Williams; his beloved twins, Dailey Grace and David Shelby Williams, Jr.; his mother, Mrs. Loretta Williams; five siblings, LaThresha Davis, John M. Johnson (Kim), Lisa Campbell, Katina L. Williams and Kristie Williams; a brother and three sisters-in-law, Kevin Stephens (Cynthia), Angela Stephens, Elizabeth Ross and Patricia Stewart (Richard); a host of loving aunts and uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Williams will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at New Birth Outreach Ministries with Pastor Carlos Coleman officiating. Pastor Eric Seldon will deliver the eulogy. The service will be live-streamed. (see clickable link below)
The interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery with Military Honors accorded.
Visitation is Friday, 3 til 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

David was sweet, kind, and gentle. We will all miss him. He had a hard life but he fought a good fight and overcame a lot of obstacles. He was dearly loved and made a difference in a lot of lives. Rest easy David we love you ❤️
