Brenda Elaine Clark 67, of Loganville, GA formerly of Columbus GA, passed away on April 30, 2024 at Piedmont Walton Hospital in Monroe, GA after a short battle with cancer.
Brenda was born on December 23, 1956 in Sylvester, GA to Edward and Mary Gammage. Brenda attended Worth County High School. In March of 1974, at the age of 17, she married her husband of 43 years, Melvin J. Clark (deceased). While Melvin was serving the country with the US Army, Brenda remained in the Columbus/Fort Benning area, where she raised their six children and worked as a supervising dietitian at several dining facilities on Post.
Brenda was an active member of Pinehurst Baptist Church for over 10 years. She also worked at USA Securities as a supervisor for almost 6 years along with two of her children Chris Clark and Lori Clark-Armour. She then went on to work part-time at Rooms To Go for another 2 years, before deciding to become a stay at home mom and help with her grandchildren by becoming a full-time daycare owner.
Brenda enjoyed going to yard sales on weekends with her mother, sister and granddaughter. Brenda also liked to play cards, watch soap operas, go fishing, and read romance novels. She loved to cook, especially potato salad ( her grand children’s favorite)
Brenda's favorite color is pink. Her favorite food is steak.
She leaves behind 17 grandchildren whom she helped raise. Brenda also has a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews cousins, and friends that all loved her.
Brenda leaves behind to cherish her in loving memories: her mother, Mary Gammage; oldest son, Scottie Gammage (Tina), bonus son, Alex McKinney (Tangie), her only daughter, Lori Clark Armour (Percy), son Christopher Clark (Mia) son Jefferson Clark (Kandace) son David Clark (Leslee), a bonus daughter Marquitta Walker; her siblings, Randy Gammage, Steven Gammage (Christina), Vincent Gammage (Karen), Jason Gammage (Cassandra), Jennifer Bush-Kraft, and Angelina Gammage.
Besides her father, the late Edward Gammage, Brenda is preceded in death and welcomed home by her husband, Melvin J. Clark, Sr., her son Melvin J. Clark Jr. (Tiffany Watkins Clark), and her grandson, Xavier Gammage.
The Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Brenda Clark will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 beginning at 11:00 AM at Pinehurst Baptist Church with interment at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Wednesday beginning at 12 until 5:00 PM at Progressive.
