Obituary For L. C. Billingslea

Mr. L. C. Billingslea, age 89, of Lanett, AL, gained his heavenly wings into eternal rest on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at his residence.

Mr. L.C. Billingslea, the son of the late Amos and Betsy Bonner Billingslea, was born on May 3, 1932 in Chambers County, Alabama.

L.C. accepted Christ at an early age and joined the St. John Baptist Church. He was a faithful member of the Deacon Board, Male Choir and the Dilligent Stewards Sunday School class. L.C. was an employee of West Point Stevens from where he retired with 44 years of unparalleled service.

L.C. was united in Holy Matrimony to Barbara J. McLemore on August 13, 1972. They would've celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary August 2021.

L.C. was preceded in death by his parents, and loving brothers, John Lewis Billingslea, Sr. and Bob Henry Billingslea. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Barbara McLemore-Billingslea, Lanett, AL; two sons, Chris Spence, Lanett, AL, and Desmond Billingslea, Jacksonville FL; three brothers, Jim E. Billingslea, Charlie Billingslea and Alfred Billingslea, Lanett, AL; one sister, Mary A. Billingslea, Lanett, AL; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Joyce McLemore and Luneda Billingslea; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services for Mr. Billingslea will be held at 1:00 p.m. ET, Thursday, July 22, 2021 in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Lanett, AL with Rev. W. L. Darden serving as the Eulogist and Rev. Elijah Jackson, assisting.

Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the M. W. Lee Mortuary.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to M. W. Lee Mortuary of West Point, GA.
