We respectively announce the passing of Mr. Dexter C. “ Bubba” Bandy, 54, of LaGrange, GA, formerly of West Point, GA, on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital, Atlanta, GA.
Funeral Services for Mr. Dexter C. “Bubba” Bandy will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 22, 2025 in the sanctuary of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1111 E. 10th Street, West Point, GA, Rev. Travis Porter, II, Pastor, Rev. Michael Jackson, Eulogist.
Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Austin Street, West Point, GA.
Public viewing will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the M. W. Lee Mortuary.
A Time To Be Born:
Dexter entered this world on November 28, 1970, in Langdale, Alabama, to Janice and John “Johnny” Bandy.
A Time To Live:
He graduated from Troup High School in 1989. He was a member of St. John Community Church.
A Time To Love:
On September 8, 2001, Dexter married the love of his life, Jackie. She stayed by his side until his journey
ended.
A Time To Laugh:
Bubba, as he was affectionately called, was a very outspoken person. He didn’t mind telling you how he
felt. He loved his family. He loved family gatherings and was the master on the grill. The Georgia Bulldogs
was his team. Big Bang Theory was his favorite show.
A Time To Grieve:
Dexter was preceded in death by his father, John “Johnny” Bandy; grandmother, Francis Pittman; aunts,
Phyllis Shealey and Jackie Winston; and uncles, Charlie Will Shealey and Lonnie B. Shealey.
A Time Of Peace:
Dexter reached his Eternal Destiny while at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital on March 16, 2025. Dexter’s memories
will be cherished by his loving and devoted wife of twenty-four years, Jackie Bandy; son, Jonathan Jackson;
granddaughter, Serenity Vines; loving mother, Janice Bandy; sisters, Yulanda Bandy, Latisha Patten, and
Bridget Pittman; brothers, Tracy Bandy and Butch (Keisha) Pittman; mother-in-law, Catherine Ballard;
sister-in-law, Wendy (Rickey) Bernard; aunts, Elayne Young, Myrtis Goss, Flora Jackson, Katie S. Williams,
Catherine Boyd, Shirley Barnes, Karen Winston, Sonya Gilliam, Gabrille Gilliam, Celeste Gilliam, Christine Culverson,
