Mr. Merrell "Bo" Ashford, a resident of Villa Rica, GA and native of Valley, AL, died Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center, Atlanta, GA.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. (EST) on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Ram Stadium, Valley, AL with Rev. Dr. George McCulloh as Officiant/Eulogist. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.
Public Viewing is scheduled for Friday, June 10, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Davis Memorial Mortuary.
Merrell Jermaine “Bo” Ashford was born December 1, 1972 to Gwendolyn Elizabeth Magby and Charles W. Ashford in Chambers County, Alabama. Bo accepted Christ at an early age and joined Concord Baptist Church in Salem, Alabama.
Bo attended Riverview Elementary and graduated from Valley High School in Valley, Alabama. During his high school years, Bo played football as a running back. After graduation, he matriculated at Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia. He later was self-employed as a Barber. He made his home with his fiancee’ Landy Willis. He had a heart of love for everyone and enjoyed fishing as a hobby.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; Gwendolyn Elizabeth Magby McCants and Charles W. Ashford; his brothers, Michael Eric Magby and Jeffery C. Ashford; a sister, Linda M. Harris and a brother-in-law, Aubrey Hill. Merrell “Bo” Ashford entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
He is survived by: his fiancee’, Landy Willis; three children, Mishanti McCullough, Latavious Tremaine Willis and Michael Jermaine Willis; five brothers, Carl (Mary) Ashford, Willie Ashford, Derek (Latasha) Edmonson, Xavier Davis and Demetrius Murphy; eight sisters, Brenda Faye Hill, Doretha “Van” Roberts, Charlotte (Freddie) Trammell, Brenda Ashford, Teresa (Billy) Feagins, Brenda (Charles) Lowe, Angela Harmon and Keisha (Stan) Ross; two aunts, Mary Ann Hightower and Gladys Ashford Graham; five uncles, Charlie (Pamela) Magby, Jr., William Magby, Roy (Delores) Magby, Henry Thomas and Lee James (Wanda) Core; step-father, Franklin McCants; step-mother, Dorothy Ashford; sister-in-law, Sandra C. Ashford; god-son, Gabe Willis; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
