The best way to describe Bette, was to say she lived her life out loud. From an early age she was strong, fierce, and independent. She had a wild sense of adventure and travel, as evidenced by the many places she called home.
Bette was born in Groveton, NH, but through her life lived in East Hampton, CT; Boston, MA; Tecumseh, MI; Atlanta, GA; Marshfield, MA; Sunapee, NH; Taos, NM; Ormond Beach, FL; Acworth GA and her final stop, Athens, GA. Who knows, with so many addresses, maybe she was a gypsy, a spy or running from the law!! She always did have a certain mystery about her.
In her early years Bette was a professional ballroom dancer, then went on to marry Carl Sieverts and raise 5 children. Later in life she worked for FEMA as a disaster reservist. Bette never met a stranger and amassed a posse of great friends from all over the country. She loved to cook, garden, entertain and savored sipping good Scotch. Her laugh was infectious, which spoke to her wicked sense of humor. I guess it’s safe to say Bette was the “life of the party”
Bette was preceded in death by her husband, and 3 of her sons, Michael, Mark and Jimmy. Her remaining family members include her brother, Bill McKeen (Linda) daughter, Kim Lisenbee, granddaughter Jenny, son Steven Sieverts and grandchildren, Nicholas and Olivia, great-grandson Alex Lisenbee, (Summer) great-great grandsons Avi and Archer, great grandsons Ryan and Drew Lisenbee. and several nieces and nephews.
