Carter Funeral Home announces the peaceful transition of Deacon Robert McNabb, of Midway, AL.
Deacon McNabb passed away Tuesday July 11, 2023, at the age of 88.
The Commemoration of Life will begin with a public visitation, Friday, July 21, 2023, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
The Farewell Life Celebration will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 11:00 am from the sanctuary of the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of the Mt. Andrew Community, Midway, AL.
The eulogy will be delivered by Pastor Elton L. Heath of the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Interment will follow in the New Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
In accordance with recommended COVID-19 Protocols, all attendees are requested to utilize appropriate facial coverings, maintain social distancing, and minimize physical contact.
ROBERT MCNABB was born November 7, 1934, to the late Laura Griffin and Oliver McNabb in Clayton, Alabama.
ROBERT MCNABB united with the late Dorothy Walker on July 8, 1957, and four children were born: daughters, Myrtis, Emma, Mary and his son, Robert, Jr.
DEACON ROBERT worked at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport for 15 years. After retirement he returned to Clayton, Alabama and became the #1 mechanic in Clayton, until his health started to decline. He found Christ in 1989 at New Bethel Church in Mt. Andrew. He was ordained as a Deacon, and served in the role as Assistant Superintendent of the Sunday School and was also President of the Missionary.
DEACON ROBERT was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; son, Robert McNabb, Jr; granddaughter, Doctorie McNabb; six brothers; and four sisters.
DEACON ROBERT leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters: Myrtis, Emma, and Mary; two sisters: Develma Knight and Faye Polnett; his grandchildren: Tianzo, Michael II, and Robert; his twelve great-grandchildren: Tiarra, Takaia, Isaiah, Aniya, Semarje, Eidyen, Montez, Paris, Michael III, Messiah, Evan, and Essence; uncles, aunts, cousins, and a host of relatives and friends.
