THE JOURNEY BEGINS Mattie (Davis) Turner was born on September 9, 1937 in Bullock County Alabama. She was the oldest daughter of Robert and Lorena Davis. Her earthly journey was completed on November 17, 2020 in Birmingham Alabama. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Barbara and brother Andrew.
She confessed Christ at an early age and was an active member of the Fellowship Baptist Church until her health declined.
MATTIE REMEMBERED Mattie Mae, as she is known by most, was a very strong, independent, woman. She took in and raised several of her sister’s children and helped with her grandchildren as well. She was a firm and straight to the point person, showing love and guidance to everyone she knew. She was truly a selfless person who believed in hard work and taking care of family. She leaves to cherish her memories, her brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, life companion John Cox, and her church family.
