Carter Funeral Home humbly announces the transition of Mr. James Arthur Woods, 57 of the Perote Community on April 30, 2020.
Mr. Woods transitioned peacefully into eternity at his residence.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 1:00 pm from the Mt. Hilliard Baptist Cemetery, Banks, Alabama.
Pastor James E. Person of the Old Union Grove Baptist Church will deliver the eulogy.
Public visitation will be held, Friday May 8, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 5 :00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
Visitation and services will be conducted exercising prescribed social distancing protocols
James Arthur Woods was born on September 30, 1962, to Mary Lee Woods and the late Arthur James Woods, in Eufaula, Alabama.
At an early age, he joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and later in life joined Old Union Grove Baptist Church in Perote, AL. He attended Rebecca Comer High School. In 1992, James was married in Holy Matrimony to Katie Mae Tarver in Union Springs, AL.
He was preceded in death by his father: Arthur James Woods and one brother: Willie James Woods.
James Arthur “Cuda”, as he was known to many, leaves to cherish his memory; a loving wife: Katie Mae Woods of Union Springs, AL; three children: LaCrystal (Bobby) Blackmon of Eufaula, AL, Cornelius James (Amy) Cliatt of Bradenton, FL, and Cassandra (Melvin) Grooms of Union Springs, AL; six grandchildren: Tyishera and Lyrica Cliatt both of Eufaula, AL, Jayla and Jaden Hutto both of Georgiatown, GA, & Jamarcus and Jamaya Grooms both of Union Springs, AL; two great grandchildren; loving mother: Mary Lee Woods of Eufaula, AL; two Fannie Woods of Eufaula, AL and Dianne (Stanley) Feagins of Forte Mitchell, AL; five sisters-in-law: Alene Richardson, Annie (Eddie) Davis, and Jonnie McClendon all of Union Springs, AL, Emily (Jimmy) Heaird of Atlanta, GA, & Marilyn Woods of Eufaula, AL; ten good friends: Jimmy Jones, Otis Tarver, Juan Northcutt, Nelson Grooms, Leonard Walker, Lyndon (Spanky) Corbitt, James (Stomp) Brown, James Cox, Sammie Randolph, and Donnie Thomas, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
