Obituary For Freddie Lee Ivey

Carter Funeral Home respectfully announces the transition of Mr. Freddie Lee Ivey, a native of Union Springs,Alabama now residing in Saginaw, Michigan,

Mr. Ivey transitioned into eternity, December 29,2016. Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, January 7,2017 at 2pm from the sanctuary of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, Rev. Roosevelt Grant pastor.

Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery. Mr. Ivey will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, January 6. 2017 from 2 until 7 p.m.

On May 17, our Heavenly Father blessed the late Deacon James Ivey, Sr. and Tessola Youngblood Ivey with a handsome baby boy. His name was Freddie Lee Ivey.

On Thursday, December 29, 2016 his life here on earth became more than he could bear; so our Heavenly Father stepped in and rescued him and took him home with Him forever. He was the grandson of the late Rev. Clayton and Eldora Youngblood and the late Rev. Bishop and Lizzie Ivey. Fred became a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church at an early age where he served faithfully in the choir until he relocated to Michigan.

He was preceded in death by a brother: George E. Ivey, his parents, and grandparents.

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Annie R. Cunningham Ivey; four daughters: Betty Ann Ivey, Francine IveyFrancois, both of Decatur, Ga; Tristine Ivey and Casandra Blackmon of Saginaw, M.I.; four sons: Freddie James (Delphine) Ivey, Bay City, M.I., Keith (Tanielle) Cunningham, Timothy (Tokesha) Cunningham of Saginaw, M.I., and Michael (Tara) Cunningham, Lexington, Kentucky; three brothers: Norman Lee Ivey, Union Springs, Al., James Ivey, Jr., and Clarence Ivey; two sisters: Bettye J. Bouie, New York, N.Y. and Lois Marie Ivey, Manley Country Club Hills, Illinois; twenty grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The Staff of Carter Funeral Home is honored to support the Ivey Family with End of Life Services.
