Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mrs. Beatrice G. Alexander, 71, of Union Springs,Alabama.
Mrs. Alexander, born May 9,1945 transitioned into eternity January 4,2017.
Mrs. B, a faithful member of the Old St. John Baptist Church also served her community as a parent liaison within the public school system.
Her earthly life will be celebrated Monday,January 9,2017 at 12 noon from the sanctuary of the Old St John Baptist Church. Words of comfort will be rendered by the pastor, Rev. Bobby Upshaw.
Interment will follow in Moultrie Cemetery.
Mrs. Alexander will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to Celebration of Life Services.
Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, January 8,2017 from 2 until 7 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home.
Beatrice Grays Alexander was born May 19, 1945 to the late Jessie and Lee Grays. She departed this earthly life on January 4, 2016. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Old St. John Baptist Church. She was educated in the public school system of Bullock County and graduated from Carver High School in 1963.
Beatrice worked in the Bullock County School System over 20 years, where she served as the Title I Parent Liason. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially, “fishing”. She was known for her famous “fish frys”, and helping others with a smile.
She was preceded in death by five siblings: Inez Allen, Susie Broadnax, Essie Mae Brown, Arthur Grays, and Charles Grays, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories: a husband, Val Alexander, III., Greensboro, N.C.; one daughter: Simone (Jamon) Mosley; grandson: Jvon Alexander; granddaughter: JaKeria Herbert of Mobile, Al.; two sisters: Lula Mae Tuggles, Clewiston, Fl. and Evern Whitlow, Tuskegee, Al.; two brothers: Leedale Grays, Fairfield, N.C. and Perry (Tammy) Pruitt, Salisbury, M.D.; adopted brothers: Dennis Benston, Fairfield, N.C., Prentis Benston, Regal, N.C., Lee (Rose) and Maurice Glover, Greenville, N.C., Larry Midgette, Engelhard, N.C., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
