Carter Funeral Home humbly announces the unexpected transition of Ms. Ayana Marie Martin of Tuskegee, AL.
Ms. Martin passed away in Union Springs, AL, Sunday morning, August 20, 2023 at the age of 23.
The Commemoration of Life will begin with a public visitation, Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
The Farewell Life Celebration will be held Sunday, August 27, 2023, at 2: 00 pm from the sanctuary of the First Missionary Baptist Church.
Pastor Gary Lewis. will deliver the message of comfort.
Interment will follow in Mason Cemetery.
In accordance with recommended COVID-19 Protocols, all attendees are requested to utilize appropriate facial coverings, maintain social distancing, and minimize physical contact.
Ayana Marie Martinwas born at Lee County Hospital, Opelika on April 9, 2000 to Amie Marie Martin and Kelvin Lark. Ayana confessed Jesus Christ and was Baptized into the Christian faith during her childhood. She attended First Baptist Missionary Church. She graduated from Bullock County High School on May 16, 2018. She became a devoted mother to Azauri Tiliyah and Serenity A’Niyah. Ayana was witty and high spirited. She loved to dance and enjoyed spending time with her children, her family, and friends. On Sunday, August 20th, the Hand of God gently touched Ayana’s cheek and she was called into his Kingdom.
FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS Ayana leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Amie and Kelvin, two daughters, Azauri Tiliyah Martin and Serenity A’Niyah Mckinnon, grandparents Jimmy and Johnnie Martin of Union Springs, five sisters Thalaishiah Martin and Jimaya Lark, both of Tuskegee, Alabama, Talicious Calhoun-Preston, Laneneshya Calhoun, and Yaneakae Calhoun, all of Phenix City, Alabama, two brothers Yoni Calhoun of Phenix City, Alabama and Darriess Calhoun of Opelika, Alabama. She had three aunts: Kimberly (Dwayne) Flowers, Montgomery, Alabama, Shanta (J.D.) McClain, Stallings, N.C., and Andrea Martin, Union Springs, AL, and two uncles, William Martin, Montgomery, AL and Mario Martin, who preceded her in death. Special friends: Ashley Hill, Octavia Persons, Kayonna Robinson, Deja Bunkley of Tuskegee, Alabama and a host of other relatives and friends.
