Mrs. April Goggans passed Sunday, February, 24, 2019 at her residence.
Funeral Service for Mrs. April Moten Goggans, 52 of Alexander City, Alabama will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, March 1, 2019 at Great Bethel Baptist Church with interment following in New Life Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m.
Mrs. April Denise Moten Goggans was born September 13, 1966 to the late Lula Patricia (Spivey) Moten and Walter Sherman Moten, Sr. in Alexander City, Alabama.
She was a dedicated member of Haven United Methodist Church and a faithful member of the choir. April graduated from Benjamin Russell High School in 1984. After high school, she attended Faulkner University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree. She continued her education and obtained a Master’s Degree from Troy University both in Montgomery, Alabama. She worked for the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care Center and retired in 2017. April united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Michael A. Goggans, Sr. on January 15, 1988 and to this union two children were born.
April’s legacy and beautiful memories will always be cherished by her loving and devoted husband, Michael A. Goggans, Sr; daughter, Michelle L. (Mario) Johnson of Fort Benning, Georgia; son, Michael A. (Kristi) Goggans, Jr. of Salem, Alabama; a stepson, Anthony R. Goggans of Alexander City, Alabama; father, Walter S. Moten, Sr.; one sister, Elizabeth C. (Gerald) Whetstone of Alexander City; four brothers, Kelvin B. (Cora) Moten; Walter S. (Shamekio) Moten Jr., both of Alexander City, Alabama; Derrick D. (Sonia) Moten of Portland, Oregon; and Cedric A. (Zandra) Moten of Norfolk, Virginia; three grandchildren, Cerenity Price, Mario Johnson, and Major Goggans and a host of loving uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. The Bible promises a time when death will be gone.(Isaiah 25:8).Please know that God cares and feels Your pain and has purposed to bring our loved ones back again through the resurrection (John 5:28,29)
