MSGT Solomon P. Smith (Retired), 54, passed away in Columbus, Georgia on February 2, 2019, at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital.

Visitation will take place Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Progressive Funeral Home, 4235 St. Mary's Road, Columbus, GA. from 1:00 to 3:30 PM.

A graveside burial will be held Monday, February 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery located at 553 AL 165, Fort Mitchell, AL. According to HR Franklin Home For Funerals Eufaula AL.

Solomon P. Smith was born on November 16, 1964, in Pensacola, Florida to Melvin and Helen Smith.

Solomon enlisted in the United States Air Force in December of 1988 and served with distinction until retiring with full military honors at the rank of Master Sergeant (MSGT) in February of 2005. Solomon served as a member and Sergeant at Arms of the American Legion #267 and devoted the remainder of his life serving as a community leader, coach, mentor and friend. Solomon P. Smith is preceded in death by his father, Melvin Smith and Sister Monica Waddell Solomon's final resting place will be the Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, AL.

Solomon P. Smith is survived by his wife, Faith Smith, and three children: Alexis, Imani, Solomon II. Sharita and granddaughter, Nyla.

Solomon will forever be remembered for his patience, loving spirit, and kindness as a husband, father, and friend.
