Mrs. Jessie Pearl Jackson, a resident of Lanett, AL, died Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at her residence.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 12:00 Noon (EST) from Mt. Hermon Family Life Center, 1601 Magnolia Road, Lanett, AL, Rev. Justin Freeman, Pastor, and Bishop Sherman Young, Officiant.

Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Veterans Memorial Parkway, Lanett, AL. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.

Public Viewing is scheduled for Friday, April 4, 2025 from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. (EST) at Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel.

Mrs. Jessie Pearl Palmer Avery Jackson, affectionately known to
family and friends as Momma, JP, Granny and Aunt Jessie.
She received Christ at a very young age and pursued Him until her
death. Jessie was presently a member of Emmanuel Life and
Worship Center under the leadership of Bishop Billy B. Avery. Jessie
was a self made Beautician. She was a former member of
Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church as well as the musician. She
was baptized by the Late Rev. Cornelius Booker. Love Union was her
first love for many years.


On May 1, 1943, a bouncing baby girl was born to Jesse and Ada,
the name "Jessie" was given to her. Jessie was a Mother, Granny,
Sister, Aunt and Friend. Her passion was singing and playing the
piano. She organized many groups and choirs, just to mention a few,
The Valley Wide Ministerial Choir and the Voices of Praise. She was
a part of the Evanaires quartet group for many years, this group
consisted of: Homer Evans (Founder), Rosie Frazier, Gertie
Trammell, Ruby Holloway, Penny Booker, Nathaniel "Nap"
Williams, Rev. Tony Avery and Bishop Billy B. Avery. The Evanaires
performed in many different venues. They recorded a couple of 45's
with songs such as: I Know the Lord Will Make a Way Somehow,
Lord I'm Running, On the Jericho Road, and You Can't Beat God's
Giving. The Evanaires recorded a jingle for Six Flag over Georgia, "І
Believe In People". Jessie was a pianist for several area churches, far
and near. Her resume of churches include: Greenwood MB Church,
New Zion, Zion Rest, Rehobeth, Mt. Hermon, Bethlehem (West
Point), Concord, Bethelpore, St. John (Cherry Drive), St. John
(Crawford, Al), Community MB Church, Good Hope, Mt. Nebo (West
Point). Jessie worked with various musicians throughout the Valley
area, Myron Fears, Nathaniel "Nap" Williams, Linda Tibbs, Dot
McClemore, and many others. She was a member of the Dixie
Harmoneers. She also sang alongside Hattie Mae Marshall, Faye
Jackson, Dorothy Ruth Benton and Irelia B. Magby.


Jessie Pearl is preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Jesse L.
Palmer and Mrs. Ada Palmer: Husband: Ernest Jackson; Brothers:
Peter Billingsley, James Brooks, Fred Brooks, Leon Brooks and one
Aunt: Louise "Lou" Lovelace.


A Legacy of Love and memories has been entrusted to four
loving, devoted sons (caregivers) and spouses: Rev. Tony L. Avery
(Eugenia T.), Bishop Billy B. Avery (Janice), Mr. Stephen A. Jackson
(Diane), Mr. De'Lavinchi Jackson (Tangie), and Rev. Stanley Roberts
(Sandra); Bonus Children: Mr. Jimmy Willoughby, Minister Sherry
Grady (Arthur "Art"), Mrs. Yvonne "Bonnie" Taylor (Arthur Lewis),
Mr. Nigel Andrews and Mr. Butch Pittman; Grandchildren: Ja'Keon
Avery, Crystal Avery, Kiaya Avery, Kariza Jackson, Stephen Jackson
Jr., Ne'Gaijanne Williams, Ty'uan Williams, Ty'Earnest Williams,
LaShawndra (Jonzie) Dunn, Sanmetricx Roberts, Stanley Roberts Jr.,
Stantavious Roberts, Kashia Benson and Kaygrea Randolph; Great
Grandchildren: Skyla Avery, Zaliyah Huguley, Zion Huguley, Ni'Sir
MaKeon Avery, Zharia Denise Avery, Bryson Dunn, Khycen Jackson,
Kaycee Chandler, Karlee Chandler, Mar'Kiyah Sims, Sa'Riyah Sims,
Serenity Roberts, Jazai Dunn, Kenzlee Dunn, Justin Dunn, Treshawn
Williams, Sydnee Williams, Jashala Story, Mason Story, Colton
Stanford and Messiah Roberts; Brothers: Mr. Jimmy Brooks and Mr.
Homer Brooks; Sisters in Love: Mrs. Peggy Brooks, Mrs. Brenda
Brooks, Mrs. Rosie DeVance and Mrs. Eunice Purcell; Bonus Sister:
Mrs. Lera Lewis; Friends: Ruby Holloway (Vernon "T-Low"),
