Elizabeth Ann Jones was born on October 29, 1956, to the late Mattie Mae Jones and David Wilks of Lanett, Alabama. She departed her earthly life for her heavenly home on Monday, February 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Elizabeth Ann Jones accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Ebenezer Baptist Church of Lanett, Alabama where she faithfully attended.

Liz, as she was called by all, was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She also served as the matriarch to the family.

Liz was employed for over 40 years with Tillies and Heard Cleaners. She went on to retire from Quickway Cleaners. She was a social butterfly and definitely the life of the party. Liz enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Ann Huguley and Mollie Annette Jones; brother, Larry D. Jones.

Elizabeth A. Jones leaves to cherish her memory: a loving companion, Willie Jennings; one daughter, Latoya (Emanuel) Swanson of Valley, Alabama; one son, Lapecco (Shasta) Jones of Lanett, Alabama; two bonus children, Laquetta Todd and Naesha Huguley; four grandchildren, Tremeniko (Breanna) Jones of Columbus, Georgia, Jacobia (Kieta) Stiggers of Lanett, Alabama, Jabrea Stiggers of Columbus, Georgia and Khari Jones of Lanett, Alabama; five great-grandchildren, Kobe Grinder of Valley, Alabama, Jacobia Jr., Ja’Niyan, Jayden, Ja’Kaylin Stiggers all of Lanett, Alabama; three sisters, Donna Marie Jones of Lanett, Alabama, Harriet Davis of Valley, Alabama and Mary Whitlow of Lanett, Alabama; two brothers, Rev. Stanley (Sandra) Roberts of Lanett, Alabama and Rev. Rodney (Earnestine) Jones of Lanett, Alabama; one sister-in-law, Irene Jones; one brother-in-law, Willie Huguley; five nieces and nephews whom she reared as her own: Gogi Jones, Lawanda Cox, Tomeka Flournoy, Angel Cameron and Arthur Young and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services for Ms. Elizabeth Ann “Liz” Jones will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 12:00 (noon) ET in the sanctuary of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1006 N.10th Avenue, Lanett, AL 36863 with Rev. Dr. Jesse Walker, Pastor, Officiating, Pastor Rodney Jones, Eulogist, Rev. Stanley Roberts, Rev. Alford Booker, Rev. Calvin Marshall and Rev. Gary Dixon, assisting.

Interment will be held in the Hill Crest Cemetery, 3202 Country Club Road, Lanett, AL 36863.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. ET until 6:00 p.m. ET at the mortuary.
