Mr. Terry Thomas, Sr., a resident of Valley, AL, died Saturday, August 3, 2024 at his residence.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. (EST) from Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1512 River Road, Valley, AL with Pastor Robert L. Carter, Officiant/Eulogist.

Interment with Military Honors will follow in Fairview Cemetery, 1335 River Road, Valley, AL. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.

Public Viewing is scheduled for Friday, August 9, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel.

Mr. Terry Thomas, Sr. was born October 30, 1953, to the parentage
of the late Mr. Norman Thomas, Sr. and Mrs. Linnie Ashford Thomas
in Langdale (now Valley), Alabama. He transitioned from earth to
reward on Saturday, August 3, 2024 in the comfort of his home.
He confessed Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late
Rev. Tom Davidson at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Riverview,
Alabama.
Terry was educated in the Chambers County School System and was
a graduate of the Valley High School Class of 1972. He furthered his
education at Southern Union State Jr. College and later enlisted in the
United States Army. After retiring from the Army, he and his family
settled in Hampton, Virginia. He worked for the federal government
as a contract administrator until his retirement.
In Terry’s words, “life owes me nothing for I have traveled the globe,
met a lot of people and tasted the good life!” Upon retirement, he
coached baseball. He was known around the community as “Coach
Tee”.
Terry was an avid bike rider, and enjoyed singing, cooking, telling
jokes, playing cards, and talking about his precious grandchildren
whom he often referred to as “his heartbeats”.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Shirlene Thomas McCullough,
Mary Thomas Stiggers, Betty Thomas Harper and James Thomas.
He leaves to cherish his memories: three daughters, Jacqueline
Thomas Phillips, Sheronica (Mitchell) Thompson and Leticia
Thomas; two sons, Derrick Thomas-Mixson and Terry Thomas, Jr.;
seven grandchildren, Donishia (Shaq) Jones, Jalen Burton, Jaden
Thomas-Edwards, Javion Thompson, Jennavive Thompson, Jenesis
Thompson and Jamari Green; siblings, Norman Thomas, Jr., Sherby
Thomas Avery, Dennis (Evelyn) Thomas, Rose Thomas, and Roy
Varner; and, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
