Mrs. Cavongia Bonner Wood was born December 23, 1949 in West Point, Troup County, GA, to the late Curlin, Sr. and Jessie Mae Bonner. She departed this life Friday, August 4, 2023 at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center, Marietta. GA.

At an early age, she confessed Christ and united with the St. John Baptist Church, Stateline Road, Lanett, AL.

“Peppi,” as she was affectionately known was a proud graduate of Phillips High School in Five Points, AL. She attended Tennessee State University, Nashville TN.

She united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Timothy Wood and to this union one son was born. She was employed by Southern Railways in Atlanta, GA, where she retired after many years of service.

“Peppi” was preceded in death her parents, her husband, Timothy Wood; three brothers, Bobby Lee, Robert, and Curlin Jr.

Cavongia leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted son, Timothy Tyson Wood, Woodstock, GA; granddaughter, Temera Wood, Slidell, LA; dear and devoted companion, Joseph Collings, Woodstock, GA; two brothers, Walter (Abrigail) Bonner, Five Points, AL and Antonio Bonner, Woodstock, GA; two nephews, Theron (Brittany) Bonner, Hogansville, GA, Raheem Bonner, Los Angeles, CA; one niece Cheryl Bonner, Nashville, TN; special cousins, LaRuth Buchannon, Florence, AL, Theresa Price, Phenix City, AL, Vonekea Hudson, Ozark, AL, Sandra Morgan, Atlanta, GA, Debra Dowdell, Majorie King and Mae Alice Billingslea of Lanett, AL; special friend, Betty Williams, Decatur, GA, a host of other cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the St. John Baptist Church, 820 Cherry Drive, Lanett, AL 36863 with Rev. Charles Trammell, Pastor, Eulogist, Rev. Billy Drakes, Jr., Rev. Eric Dowdell and Rev. Michael Bonner, assisting.

Interment will follow in the St. John Cemetery.

At the family's request, there will not be public viewing.
Final Arrangements entrusted to M. W. Lee Mortuary.
