ON JULY 15, 2023, God called home one of his young angels.
Keaton Shawn Winston, was born the youngest of three children (Roderick and Stephanie) to Samuel and Sylvia Winston on May 5, 1979 in Langdale, Chambers County, AL.

He attended Lanett City Public School System and was a member of the Lanett High School Class of 1997.

Keaton was baptized at the age of 10 by the late Rev. Eugene Cooks in 1989. He received his CDL in 2022, after numerous attempts, but never gave up. That same year he rededicated his life to Christ.

Keaton loved sports and was an avid “Bama” fan. He loved to travel and experience new adventures. He loved his family and was recently acquainted with son, Jakealin Quashon Ross, whom he looked forward to forming a long overdue relationship.

He was a fighter, after being diagnosed with cancer 2021, he beat the odds. Unfortunately, it reared its ugly head again.

Keaton was preceded in death by his father, Samuel C. Winston; his aunt, Jenell and uncle, Oscar Lee; his uncles, Robert and Clarence Winston and his nephew, Charles Trammell, III.

He leaves to cherish his life and memories to: his son, Jakealin Quashon; his loving mother, Sylvia Winston; brother, Roderick Winston; sister, Stephanie Herbert (Eric); uncle, Maurice(Barbara)Winston, Southfield, MI; aunts, Barbara Robinson, Philadelphia, PA, Diane Winston, Connie Wright, Lucy Robinson and Patricia Davis, all of Lanett, AL; cousins, Michael and Lennie Gonzalez; spiritual brother, Charles(Shenica) Trammell; the Trammell Family; special friends, Leilani Rudd and Alvin Zanders, Jr.; nieces, Amaya Watson, Jasmine and Sydney Winston; nephews, Rashard Jemison Roderick Winston, Jr., Cameron and Allton Watson, Joshua Winston and a host of cousins, friends and classmates.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 12:00(noon) ET in the sanctuary of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1006 North 10th Avenue, Lanett, AL, with Rev. Dr. Jesse Walker, II, Pastor/Officiant; Min. Rashard Jemison, Eulogist and Rev. Bernard Williams, assisting.

Interment will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
