Ms. Sylvia Spivey Ridgeway passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the age of 85. She was born on June 4, 1938 to the late Louis Spivey and Lena Pearl Morrow Spivey in Philadelphia, MS.

Before Ms. Ridgeway left Ellisville, MS she was employed with the State of Mississippi as a Recreational Therapist. She has been residing in Columbus for the past 17 years and became a member of Wynnton Road Church of Christ In God.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Keys; five brothers, H.C., Ulis, Andrew, Eric and Louis Spivey; two sisters, Katherine Rogers and Luguene West.

Cherishing Ms. Sylvia Ridgeway's memories are her two sons, Murdock Benson and Steve Spivey; one daughter, Sylvia Ulmer; one sister, Dorothy Spivey; nine grandchildren, Jason Gavin, Destiny Milsap, Veonica Keys, Arlene Williams, Louis Spivey, Spencer Spivey, Marcus Benson, Megan Benson and Zebrina Jackson.

The Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Sylvia Ridgeway will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Progressive with interment following at Green Acres Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday beginning at 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
