Obituary For Betty Reed

Mrs. Betty Reed, the daughter of the late Ms. Lizzie Mae Jackson was born May 16, 1950 in Milledgeville, Baldwin County, GA. She peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 25, 2022 at Wellstar West Georgia Hospice, LaGrange, GA.

Betty accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with the New Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She received her education in the West Point Public School System. She attended Harrison High School.

Betty was joined in holy matrimony to the Willie Morris Reed.

Betty was employed as a health care provider and assisted many families in the area in taking care of their loved ones. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and shopping with her friends. Her favorite card game was spades. She looked forward to spending quality time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Morris Reed and her mother, Lizzie Mae Jackson.

Betty leaves to cherish her precious memories: her three loving children, Jimmy(Reythel)Askew, Decatur, GA, Beatrice(Daniel)Davis, and Andrea Buckhanon both of West Point, GA; three grandchildren, Jimmy L. Askew, III, Demarious Askew both of Decatur, GA and Vanterra Askew, LaGrange, GA; four great grandchildren, Karter Huguley and Ariah Askew both of LaGrange, GA, Arianna Billing of New York, NY and Chastity Askew, of Atlanta, GA; host of cousins and other relatives and friends; special friends, Linda Heard, Annie Penn and Carolyn Howell.

Gravesides Services for Mrs. Reed will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. in the Marseilles Cemetery with Overseer Gary L. Fanning serving as the Eulogist.

Public viewing will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Arrangements entrusted to M. W. Lee Mortuary
