Carter Funeral Home humbly and honorably announces the peaceful transition of Mr. Bobby Charles McClendon, (63) of Jonesboro, GA. While surrounded by his caring family, Mr. McClendon, a native of Alabama transitioned into eternity on July 11, 2022, at his residence.

The Commemoration of Life will begin with a public visitation, Friday, July 22, 2022, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.

The Farewell Celebration at Graveside will be held Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Cemetery in the Pine Grove Community, Midway, AL. Pastor William Joe Glover of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church will deliver the message of comfort.

In accordance with recommended COVID-19 Protocols, all attendees are requested to utilize appropriate facial coverings, maintain social distancing, and minimize physical contact.

Bobby Charles McClendon, the son of the late Revie Christian and T.R. McClendon Sr was born on June 21, 1959, in Clayton, Alabama.

At an early age he confessed Christ and joined Mt Herman Baptist Church.

He was a graduate of Pike County High School and later attended Sparks Technical College in Eufaula, AL.

Bobby had a successful career as an owner operator truck driver for 25 years.

He leaves in memory his loving wife of 36 years, Bernice McClendon, three daughters: Tameka Tarver, Alexis McClendon, and Amber McClendon; three grandsons: Kyree Tarver, Korey Tarver, and Braylen Hare; and granddaughter, Mariah Olivia Stanley

He also leaves in loving memory the late T.R. McClendon (Jonnie), Union Springs, AL, Billy (Velda Molden), Atlanta, GA, MaryAnn McClendon Union Springs, Doris Finn (James), JoAnn Thomas, Gwen Davis, Lilly McClendon Huffman, Barbara Christian, Bernia Cummings (Willie), Willie J (Penola) Christian Jr, Donald (Mayzetta) Christian, Jan Christian (Terry), Jeanette Christian all of Union Springs, Alabama and a host of nieces and nephews.

His memories would not be complete without a special acknowledgement for God Sisters, Joyce Davis, Melissa Davis and Shante Davis. God Brothers, John Meka and Lloyd Gloude and his devoted Friends; Eddie Brown, Bennie Preal, Melvin Diggs, Andrew Hall, Robert Coleman, Steven Asley, Fred Lampley and James Adams and his Loyal Neighbors, James and Pat McDowell

The Staff of Carter Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with The Final Life Celebration Arrangements for the late Mr. Bobby Charles McClendon.
