Johnnie M. Daniels

Mrs. Johnnie Mae Daniels passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, February 20, 2021. She was the second of nine children born to the late John and Lucile Williams Cochran.

Johnnie Mae was baptized at Ebenezer Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Philpot. She moved her membership to Liberty Hill Baptist Church in 1957 where she served in the following organizations: Sunday School, Missionary, Willing Workers, Matrons, Choir, East AL District Missionary Baptist Association, East AL Singing Convention and Chaplain of Midweek Social Club.

She was educated in the Lee County School System, attending Flint Hill School in Salem, AL.

Mrs. Daniels was well known throughout the community for her cooking skills. She worked at several restaurants before landing at Fieldcrest Mill where she eventually retired from after 17 years of service.

Other than her parents, Johnnie Mae was preceded in death by her husbands; Thomas W. Madden, John H. Daniels; her son, Louis Madden; and five siblings, Robert Cochran, Roosevelt Cochran, Willie E. Gunn, Jimmy Cochran, Mary Alice Ellis.

Left to cherish heartfelt memories include her children: Annie Hall(Gilbert), Thomas F. Madden, Louise Simmons(James), John Madden(Gladys); a beloved daughter-in-law, Martha Madden; her siblings, Mary E. Thomas, Louella Mosely, Dr. Raymond Cochran(Mary); her beloved in-laws Gladys Cochran, Bernice Madden, Moses Madden; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Daniels will be held Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Twelve O’Clock P.M. in Green Acres Cemetery, Dr. Raymond Cochran will be officiating.
