Edith went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 in St Petersburg, Florida. She was born July 12, 1933 at Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley, Alabama. She raised five children with her husband, Harrell, until his passing in 2000. She was a devoted wife to him and later in life to Frank Stiver after their marriage in 2013. She loved her family more than anything. She prayed her favorite verse, Acts 16:31, over them. "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. " She was an active member of Community Chapel Church of God, White Chapel Church of Daytona, Fl. when they lived there and faithfully supported Park Street Baptist Church during her time in Florida, as well as, her Church in Nebraska. She loved her family. Edith loved to laugh, travel the world, and fellowship with friends. Everyone that knew her, loved her southern accent, her wit, her humor and her hospitality. If you met her, she invited you to her home and her table with open arms. She was an active card and domino player, secretary for her Ladies Prayer Group for many years, as well as a member of the Red Hat Society. Edith visited the nursing homes and took friends to the Doctor and Dentist. What love and compassion. She loved America and the President. A notable honor to her was receiving a letter and picture from the Trump Administration.
Edith is survived by her husband, Frank Stiver; her three sons, William H. "Bill" Carmichael of Lanett, Robert Lewis "Bob" (Cindy) Carmichael of St. Petersburg, Fl, and James C. "Jim" Carmichael of Valley; her daughter, Rhonda (Tim) Hill of Jacksons Gap, Al; Daughter-in-law Debbie Carmichael; 15 grandchildren, John Harrell Carmichael III "Jay" Carmichael, Brandon (Hannah) Carmichael, Sheldon (Amie) Carmichael, Leigh and Lance Carmichael, Lindsey Carmichael Manson, Jason (Josephine) Fuller, Chris (Torri) Fuller, Shannon (Johnny) Watts, Megan Carmichael, and James Curtis "Curt" Carmichael; 15 great-grandchildren, Zane Carmichael, Shalee Hinkle, John Harrell Carmichael IIII "John", Chloe and Cason Guy, Makaleigh Carmichael, Massimo Fuller, Nathan and Daniel Fuller, Avery Carmichael, Landon Carmichael, Grayson Carmichael, Hudson Carmichael, and Elijah Carmichael; sister-in-law, Mary Bohler, brother-in-law, Rev. James C. Burchette. She was loved by her extended family in Nebraska, Elaine Houser-Hart, Kenny Stiver, Dale Stiver; Joey Moore and children Belle, Refuge, and Ashden.
Mrs. Carmichael was the daughter of the late William Owen Bohler Sr. and Ardeth Kitchens Bohler. She was preceded in death by her late husband of 50 years, John Harrell Carmichael Sr.; her son, John Harrell Carmichael II; granddaughter, Brandy Carmichael; brothers, William Owen "Bill" Bohler and Ronald Bohler.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the "Carmichael & Bohler Oakwood cemetery fund" in Lanett, Alabama.
