Obituary For John W. Rosser Jr.

We respectfully announce the passing of Mr. John W. Rosser Jr., age 72, of Primrose Road in Grantville Ga. (Zion Hill Community) on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Piedmont Healthcare in Newnan.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery located at 2950 Primrose Road, Greenville, Georgia. Dr. E. L. Jimerson, Pastor, will officiate.

Public viewing will be Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be a limited number of people at the Graveside Service and during the public viewing only 3 people at one time in the Funeral Home with social distancing of 6 feet. PLEASE WEAR MASK for Viewing and Graveside Services.

John W. Rosser, Jr. was born on August 21, 1947 to the late John and Lizzie Rosser in Greenville Georgia (the Primrose Community) of Meriwether County. At an early age, he accepted Christ and united with the Walkers Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Greenville Georgia where he served faithfully.

John attended the Meriwether County School System graduating from Greenville Consolidated High School in Greenville Georgia. He spent most of his working career detailing cars; his final detail shops included Gene Evans, Mike Patton’s and Abra Auto Body Repair.

On February 22, 1993, he was united in holy matrimony to Mary Nell (Clements) Owens where a journey of togetherness began and continued until his earthly departure. Together, they were blessed with five children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Christine Grimes, Imogene Shelton, Annell Leaks, Benjamin Rosser, Holsie Rosser, William Rosser and Wilton Rosser; mother-in-law, Lennell Owens Scott; son-in-law, Bennie Fuller; grandson, DeMorrio Fuller and special nephew, Jimmy Cotton. John leaves to cherish his precious memories a loving wife, Mary Nell; five children: Connie (Gary) Wiggins, Omar Rosser, Latonya Fuller, Christopher Owens, and Darrell (Kimberlia) Owens; sisters: Thelma Smith and Florine Clark; grandchildren: Audrey Paige and Sidney L. Wiggins, Amber Evans, Omara and Omar Rosser, Jr., Natasha Fuller, Russell Mathis, Beontae (Kayla) Fuller and Shaylatiah Owens; great grandchildren: Layla, Moriah, Kingston, Asher and Noah Fuller and Kaleah Owens.

He also leaves to cherish his memory father-in-law, Willie L Clements, Sr.; sisters-in-law: Mary C. Rosser, Betty Rosser and Vickie (Stalin) Williams; brothers-in-law: Alonza Bohannon, Willie L. (Teresa) Clements, Jr. and Gerald (Tina) Clements; special nieces, Angela Cotton, Trina (James) Amey and Cheryl (Willie) Martin and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
